Two types of jewelry are recommended for rook piercings:
- Diamond clicker hoops, which follow the natural curve of the cartilage
- Curved barbell piercings (“banana bars”) for a discreet, secure fit
Hoops (inner diameter):
- 5 mm: for thin ears or a close fit
- 6.5 mm: for thicker cartilage or a slightly roomier fit
Curved barbells (post length):
- 5 mm: for small or thin ears
- 6.5 mm: for thicker cartilage or a new piercing
